After more than 1 year of implementing the project "Research and Build a Database of Common Industrial Waste (ash, slag, mold shells, waste sludge) from Industrial Plants in Ho Chi Minh City and Create a Manual for Treatment and Reuse", on May 25th, 2022, the Faculty of Environment at Van Lang University organized an expert workshop to gather feedback from stakeholders involved in the quality management chain of industrial waste. Participants included businesses, management agencies, collection and transportation companies, treatment providers, and environmental experts.

Ho Chi Minh City is a vital economic zone in the country, home to numerous industrial parks housing over 2,000 large factories and 10,000 small and medium-sized workshops. On a daily basis, the city receives more than 4,000 tons of industrial waste, putting immense pressure on environmental balance and protection. In response to this pressing issue, a workshop was held and drew in a large number of experts to discuss and devise solutions to manage and reduce the amount of waste generated. By doing so, businesses can save money, and natural resources can be conserved, contributing to the betterment of the community's living environment.

The President of Van Lang University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, expressed gratitude towards the teachers and businesses who have supported the university's research team. VLU is dedicated to serving the community through its environmental initiatives and aims to become one of the top 500-700 universities globally within the next five years.
During the program, five presenters presented topics related to the experiment. Participants actively listened and discussed, giving suggestions to optimize the experiment results.
