The 2023 - 2024 Postgraduate Opening Convocation and Dialogue program

On October 9, 2023, Van Lang University organized the 2023-2024 academic year Postgraduate Opening Convocation and Dialogue program for students enrolled in 13 Master's and 1 Doctoral programs.

Van Lang University, established in 1995, officially opened its first postgraduate program in 2012. Van Lang University has contributed to society with almost 500 Master’s graduates after 11 years of development as of October 2023. Currently, the University has 13 Master's programs and one Doctoral program, and it is one of the postgraduate training units that many students trust and choose. 

Opening the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, President of Van Lang University, expressed gratitude for the students’ beliefs and the decision to choose Van Lang as a place to continue to develop their dreams of professional learning. According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, Van Lang University's Postgraduate Programs inspires students to appreciate science. Here, learners cultivate knowledge and complete capacity to offer scientific and practical qualities to the field they are studying and to society. In particular, Van Lang University, with the policy of taking care of learners, is willing to assist funding for students capable of researching and developing scientific research topics and highly relevant thesis themes, resulting in products of practical value.

When speaking with the Board of Administrators and lecturers in charge of the Postgraduate training program, students' questions concerning the learning path, notes in the training process, research, and incentives are answered. According to Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Duy, Deputy Director of the Postgraduate Education Institute, for Van Lang University graduates who want to study for a Master's degree, the University offers scholarships, tuition incentives, and many favorable conditions to help students complete the Postgraduate training program while saving time and money.

For Master's graduates, the university will create opportunities for students to connect with famous educational units overseas, providing extensive study possibilities in advanced countries. Currently, Van Lang University offers a Doctoral program in Environmental Science. Graduates with master's degrees in Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources and Environmental Management are eligible to apply for training and receive a range of scholarships: 100% full course tuition fees scholarship for candidates who are staff and faculty members working at Van Lang University (with conditions for maintaining scholarships), the 80% tuition fees scholarship for female or ethnic minority researchers (with conditions for maintaining the Scholarship); A 30% tuition fee scholarship for recognized doctoral candidates.

Present at the Opening Convocation to welcome a new generation of students, MSc. Chau Khieu Minh - The valedictorian of the Master's program in Business Administration in 2021, currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee, Director of the Center for Advanced Training - PetroVietnam University sent congratulations, encouraging the spirit of the "junior" generation, and shared about his learning journey.

Despite the outstanding academic achievements as a Master of Business Administration from Van Lang University and a Master of Chemical Technology from Lviv Polytechnic National University (Ukraine), MSc. Chau Khieu Minh never stopped striving, never stopped encouraging himself to continue the path of conquering knowledge. MSc. Chau Kieu Minh shared: “Genius is only 1% talented, but the remaining 99% comes from sweat, tears, and a little luck. Today, we approach learning more easily than before thanks to luck. However, luck will only stop here if we don't make an effort and strive every day. On the learning journey, we will get exhausted and stressed, but I hope that when you consider quitting, think about why you decided to start. That will be the most powerful motivation that brings us back to the finish of the race.”

Postgraduate education is a key developmental step on the road to realizing Van Lang University's educational mission.
