On December 2, 2025, the 11th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) of Van Lang University for the 2025–2027 term was successfully held, with the participation of 115 delegates representing 27 affiliated Youth Union units.
The 11th Congress of the HCYU of Van Lang University was a significant event aimed at reviewing and evaluating Youth Union activities and the youth movement during the 2022–2024 term. At the same time, the Congress reviewed the performance of the 10th Executive Committee and identified orientations and key tasks for the new term. The Congress also elected the 11th Executive Committee of the University Youth Union and delegates to attend the 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City for the 2025 - 2030 term.
During the first working session, the Congress presented the summary report for the 2022–2024 term. Youth Union activities and youth movements achieved many notable outcomes, including 97 academic awards at various levels, 560 exemplary young individuals following Uncle Ho’s teachings, and more than 100 vibrant sports and physical activities. The movement “VLU Students - Creative, Responsible, and Globally Integrated” was effectively maintained, leaving a strong impression within the community.

Within the same session, the Congress adopted the orientation for the 2025–2027 term, outlining several key priorities: strengthening education in revolutionary ideals, ethics, and lifestyle; promoting the application of technology and AI in Youth Union activities; and further developing the “Five-Good Student” movement. Targets for the entire term include 150,000 volunteer hours, 100 research projects, and 1,500 “Five-Good Student” dossiers at the university level, along with the development of practical initiatives such as an online Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space and a student housing information platform.
At the second working session held later that afternoon, the Congress unanimously elected the 11th Executive Committee of the University Youth Union, consisting of 27 members who meet the required criteria for structure, standards, and capacity. Notably, Comrade Pham Thanh Phuoc continued to receive strong confidence and was re-elected as Secretary of the University Youth Union for the 2025–2027 term.

In addition, the Congress elected five official delegates to attend the 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City for the 2025–2030 term, including Comrade Pham Thanh Phuoc (University Youth Union Secretary), Comrade Pham Quoc Anh, Comrade Tran Thi Thuy Linh, Comrade Huynh Quang Vinh, and Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Yen Vy. Two alternate delegates were also approved: Comrade Nguyen Vu Truong and Comrade Nguyen Hoang Sy Khoa.

Addressing the Congress, Comrade Le Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, highly appreciated the contributions of the Van Lang University Youth Union. He also provided strategic guidance for the new term, stating: “During the past term, Van Lang University achieved 300% of our scientific research targets, while the proportion of outstanding Youth Union members introduced for Party development, admitted to the Union, and participating in scientific research increased year by year. However, the University needs to strengthen coordination among leadership units to ensure that youth movements are effective and closely aligned with societal realities and the academic environment.”

He emphasized the need for the University Youth Union to further concretize the Congress Resolution through practical action programs; enhance digital skills for Youth Union members; promote the “Five-Good Student” movement; build a Youth Union leadership team that is resilient and exemplary; and more effectively accompany students in the context of international integration.

Additionally, Comrade Bui Thi Van Anh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the University Council, expressed her commendation and sincere appreciation to Youth Union officials and members for their significant efforts during the past term.

Based on the University’s Vision to 2030, the Party’s direction, and Van Lang’s 30-year tradition, Comrade Van Anh called on the University Youth Union to focus on three strategic missions:
After two serious and productive working sessions, the 11th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union successfully elected its new core leadership. The Congress expressed confidence that the Executive Committee will continue to uphold a pioneering spirit, fulfill its role as the highest leadership body of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Van Lang University, and effectively carry out Youth Union activities and youth movements throughout the 2025–2027 term.
