“Spreading positive values to the community” is an inspirational mission reflected in every activity at Van Lang University, and the Faculty of Civil Engineering is one of the dynamic units in social work. On the occasion of Tet, on the morning of January 14, 2025, representatives of the Faculty organized a visit and gave gifts to children at the Go Vap Child Protection Center (HCMC).
Sharing about the Faculty’s social works, Ms. Vo Thanh Giang, Assistant of Student Affairs of the Faculty of Civil Engineering said: “This is a regular volunteer activity, organized and donated by the Faculty’s students at the beginning of each semester. Over the years, the Faculty has donated and supported many different subjects, from the homeless to other difficult circumstances.”
The joyful and warm moments of the students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering with the children.
At the Go Vap Child Protection Center, students donated essential supplies to support nutrition for children in the Department of Intellectual Disability, the Department of Severe Special Needs, and the Department of Neonatal. Hopefully, these gifts will bring the children a spring filled with joy and laughter.
Volunteering not only helps improve the lives of the community but also brings valuable practical experiences to students. Through each project, students not only gain life experience but also learn to sympathize and share. The spirit of “the leaves protect tattered ones” is maintained and spread through many generations of students.
Hopefully these volunteer activities will continue to inspire and encourage students to participate in public service projects in the future, contributing to building an increasingly humane and developed society.
