After a period of selecting the most outstanding talents, on the evening of November 29, 2023, the VanLang’s Got Talent 2023 competition officially concluded with an emotional finale, leaving a lasting impression on all contestants and audiences present at the Trinh Cong Son Hall.
VanLang’s Got Talent is an annual talent competition organized by Van Lang University. Throughout six seasons, the competition has gained popularity within the VLU student community. It not only provides an opportunity for students passionate about the arts to shine and self-expressed, but also to showcase the diverse talents of Van Lang students.
The finale gets even more exciting with a panel of renowned judges: choreographer Le Vinh, actor Minh Luan, singer Yen Trang, and singer/producer Bui Duy Ngoc.
Out of the initial 40 acts, the 18 most outstanding contestants were chosen for the final competition, where their meticulously crafted performances conveyed meaningful messages about family love, homeland patriotism, life, and youth to the audience.
The judges excitedly praised the remarkable performances by VLU talents.
Singer Yen Trang, one of the judges for the grand finale: "Watching the performances, I get so immersed as an audience member that I forget I'm a judge. All the acts are wonderful, well-prepared, with meaningful stories and special messages."
The song "Con Co" was given a lively melody by GUIDE BAND, preserving the traditional essence of Northern folk music while infusing it with the modern vibes of Gen Z. Through the Tango dance, Dao Thuy Tien presented an elegant dance performance, reminiscent of the character Princess Ariel, guiding the audience into the music realm of South America.With the song "Son" featuring contemporary folk music, Pham Ngoc Anh Thu showcased her sweet and powerful voice during her performance.Receiving a golden ticket from the semi-finals, TBAS BAND was considered a redoubtable opponent at the finale. Not disappointing the audience, the band delivered a self-composed song about "cyberbullying" in society, thereby conveying a positive message about life.Dinh Truong Nguyen Khang's violin solo on the melody of "Santa Lucia" transported the audience to the classical music world of Italy.Through the encouragement of the audience, the performance "Be Yourself" by contestant Le Thi Le Hang set the stage on fire with dynamic dance moves, conveying the message "Live life on your own terms!"One of the precious moments was delivered by the "Kich nho xiu" group, touching the participants’ hearts with a story of young love, honoring traditional values in Vietnamese culture.Setting the stage ablaze with professional dance moves, THE LIL FAWKES group delivered a visually stunning performance to the conveyed message.A proud moment when the entire hall joined in unison, singing the meaningful lyrics with contestant Hoang Minh Duc to the song "Viet Nam trong toi la". With its majestic melody, Minh Duc conveyed a message of deep patriotic love and pride in being Vietnamese.The performance "Lua nguc tu" by contestant Dang Phuc Hau delivered touching moments filled with the indomitable spirit of young soldiers , inspiring patriotism among Van Lang students. With profound messages and well-prepared performance, Phuc Hau secured the runner-up position in the "Other Talents" category.Through the song "Me yeu con," Tran Thien Phu showcased his emotional singing and music interpretation, securing the runner-up prize in the Music category.Nguyen Thi Kieu Sang's opera performance "The Phantom of the Opera" showcased her powerful and soaring soprano voice, specially supported by Nguyen Thien Quan - the winner of VanLang’s Got Talent 2021. This explosive duet helped Kieu Sang excellently claim the highest position - the champion of this year's competition.The harmonious performance of The Flow duo on the song "Bien nho" - a famous piece by the late musician Trinh Cong Son. The contemporary dance act with smooth performance techniques, combined with overall lighting and emotions, won the hearts of the judges, securing the championship title in the "Other Talents" category.
After 18 impressive performances, VanLang’s Got Talent 2023 welcomed singer LyLy with her hit songs: "Tai sao anh nhan loi", "24H," and "Missing You." The atmosphere became even more heated with the lively dance moves of guest Le Vinh, well-received from the Van Lang student community.
