On September 24, 2024, the Faculty of Medicine at Van Lang University hosted a scientific seminar titled "Application of Nanotechnology in Medicine." The event attracted a large number of lecturers, students, and experts from the medical and technology fields, serving as a platform for scientists to connect and exchange their research on the most recent advancements in nanotechnology applications.
Representing the university, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Kim Oanh, Head of the Department of Research Development and Dean of the Faculty of Environment, shared: "Van Lang University is committed to sustainable development through technology transfer and high-quality education. Today's seminar is a testament to the university's efforts in connecting scientific research with practical applications, preparing students to face the challenges of the modern world."
At the seminar, Dr. David Vu, PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, delivered an inspiring talk on the groundbreaking potential of nanotechnology in medicine, agriculture, and mechanical engineering. Dr. Vu highlighted the pivotal role of this technology in revolutionizing various fields, particularly healthcare, with applications such as wound management, COVID-19 treatment, and its promising potential in cancer therapy and bone regeneration. In the mechanical field, nanotechnology enhances diesel engine performance, while in agriculture, it increases crop yields, protects the environment, and ensures food safety. He emphasized that nanotechnology not only produces effective products but also contributes to sustainable development.
In addition to in-depth theoretical knowledge, the seminar featured lively discussions where participants exchanged ideas and shared the latest updates on cancer treatment using nanotechnology. The ideas and initiatives that emerged from these discussions have opened new research directions, in line with the trends of modern medicine.
