Semifinals of “Ra Khoi 2025”: Top 7 Finalist Projects Officially Announced

On May 21, 2025, the Semifinal round – “Demo Day” – of Ra Khoi 2025, a startup idea competition organized by Van Lang University, took place with the participation of 21 teams. That same afternoon, the Organizing Committee officially announced the Top 7 finalists advancing to the Grand Finale.

According to Dr. Nguyen Quynh Mai – Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Head of the Organizing Committee – “Ra Khoi 2025” continues the legacy of past seasons as a platform to nurture students' entrepreneurial spirit and their ambition to build businesses. Notably, this year’s competition welcomed participants from both Ha Noi and international teams, including those from Taiwan. Having followed the teams from ideation to implementation, Dr. Mai praised the results seen at the Semifinal as the outcome of each team's dedication and growth journey, adding that their projects have the potential to go even further.

The Semi-Final Judging Panel consisted of experts in research and project/business model development: Dr. Huynh Tan Loi – Head of the MSc, Faculty of Environment VLTECH; Ms. Vo Thi My Duyen, M.A. – Founder of the “Hanh trinh Khoi lua Hanh trang SFVN”; Ms. Nguyen Hoang Khanh Tien, M.A. – Expert in community development and responsible business practices. After directly experiencing the exhibition booths and engaging in exchanges and critical discussions with the competing teams, the judges highly appreciated the creativity and practical applicability of the projects. They also provided sincere feedback to help teams further improve their models.

Following the Semi-Final evaluation, the Organizing Committee of “Ra Khoi 2025: Switch on Sustainability” officially announced the Top 7 teams advancing to the Final Round, which will take place from May 29 to June 8, 2025. During this period, teams will continue to refine their projects and create products/models (if applicable) to present in the final investment pitching round.

• Team Vivu – Project: “Building a diverse and professional ecosystem for families and children” (4 members from Van Lang University, Hoa Sen University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade);
• Team Green Refillers – Project: “BioGel – A biological water-retaining gel to fight drought” (5 members from Van Lang University, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Foreign Trade University – Campus 2, Ho Chi Minh University of Banking);
• Team Tiger Shield – Project: “Tiger’s Tongue – A green bio-shield to protect crops” (5 members from Van Lang University, University of Finance and Marketing, University of Health Sciences, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City);
• Team EcoCushion – Project: “Water hyacinth-based shock-absorbing packaging” (5 members from Van Lang University);
• Team Self – Project: “SELF – An educational app for children with autism” (5 members from Van Lang University);
• Team Da Cam – Project: “O-Leather – Biodegradable leather made from orange peels” (5 members from University of Economic Ho Chi Minh City);
• Team Sang Tao Xanh - Project: “Banana-stem food containers” (5 members from Van Lang University);
