With the project “Rice husk packaging design for Bat Trang Ceramics", VLU Applied Arts graduate students won two Product Design prizes: Emerging Designer Award and Audience’s Choice Award at the EU-Viet Nam Sustainable Design Awards (EVSDA) 2025, organised by the European Union. The entry by Nguyen Thi Ngoc Nhi, Phan Thi Thien Huong, and Hoang Hong Hanh was honoured at the ceremony last night (12/12/2025) at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, Ha Noi.

Developed from a final assignment in the Sustainable Design module instructed by Dr. Le Long Vinh, the team upcycled rice husks and lignin to propose sustainable, high-utility packaging that preserves local culture while meeting real-world needs. From classroom brief to a national creative stage, the project is a proud milestone and fresh inspiration for VLU’s Arts and Design community.
