Preliminary survey for external evaluation of 07 undergraduate training programs

Continuing the quality assessment journey, on September 13, 2025, Van Lang University coordinated with the Saigon Centre for Educational Quality Accreditation (CEA-SAIGON) to organize a preliminary online survey for 07 undergraduate training programs, including: Medical Biotechnology; Food Technology; Film and Television Directing; Acting for Stage and Screen; Medical Laboratory Science; Data Science; and Mechatronics Engineering.

Dr. Duong Mong Ha, Director of the Saigon Centre for Educational Quality Accreditation, member of the External Evaluation Team, highly appreciated the professional preparation and acknowledged Van Lang University’s development efforts in quality assurance. Also, Dr. Ha said that the Team had studied the summary reports of the profiles of 07 training programs, conducted preliminary discussions and agreed on the official survey plan.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Hong, Chairwoman of the Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, Head of the External Evaluation Team, expressed her impression with the quality assurance process that Van Lang University is implementing. She announced the research results and agreed on the official survey plan, and affirmed that the External Evaluation Team conducted a meeting according to the correct procedure to make initial comments on the 07 training programs participating in the accreditation.

In the report on the results of the profile research, Dr. Le Hoang Vu, Secretary of the External Evaluation Team, said that the profiles of the 07 programs fully met the requirements on structure and content according to current regulations. The reports clearly stated the problems, analyzed strengths and weaknesses, and action plans, provided full data and evidence. The Team recommended that Van Lang University continue to complete the list of documents and interview subjects. At the same time, the External Evaluation Team also developed a plan to survey the actual facilities to ensure a comprehensive assessment. 

At the end of the working session, both parties signed the Memorandum of the online preliminary survey for 07 training programs, which is a premise for the official survey from September 23 to September 26, 2025.
