On August 13, 2025, Van Lang University (VLU) welcomed the External Evaluation Team from the Saigon Centre for Educational Quality Accreditation (CEA-SAIGON) to conduct a preliminary assessment in preparation for the external evaluation of six academic programs.
The preliminary assessment aimed to assess facilities quality, supporting evidence, and the university’s preparations ahead of the official evaluation visit, scheduled for August 23 - 26, 2025. The programs under review include four master’s programs — Applied Arts, Hospitality Management, Accounting, and Economic Law — and two Undergraduate programs — Piano Performance and Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology.

Representing CEA-SAIGON, Dr. Le Hoang Vu, Deputy Director of CEA-SAIGON and Secretary of the External Evaluation Team, officially announced the Decision on the establishment of the External Evaluation Team for Van Lang University’s academic programs. The team will carry out its tasks in compliance with the guidelines set forth by the Ministry of Education and Training and CEA-SAIGON.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Duong Mong Ha, Director of CEA-SAIGON and Head of the External Evaluation Team, introduced the team’s working methods and schedule. He emphasised that the upcoming official evaluation would be conducted based on expertise, specific accreditation standards, and in accordance with Circular No. 04/2016/TT-BGDDT, with the goal of enhancing program quality in the next stage.

Following the visit, Dr. Vu, Deputy Director of CEA-SAIGON and Secretary of the External Evaluation Team, summarised the findings, consolidating feedback from team members and VLU, as well as the University’s documentation. The resulting report was presented with clear structure, concrete illustrations, and appropriate annexes.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, Member of the University Council and President of Van Lang University, expressed sincere gratitude to the External Evaluation Team. She affirmed that the team’s insights and recommendations provide valuable guidance for the University’s ongoing efforts to improve educational quality.

As part of the event, Van Lang University signed the Memorandum of Preliminary Assessment for the external evaluation of six academic programs, including four at the Master’s level and two at the Undergraduate level. The signing ceremony was conducted online with the participation of program representatives, marking an important step toward the official evaluation stage.
From August 23 to 26, 2025, Van Lang University will formally welcome the External Evaluation Team from CEA-SAIGON to conduct the official review of the four programs at Master’s level (Applied Arts; Hospitality Management; Accounting; and Economic Law) and two at Undergraduate level (Piano Performance; Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology).
