Potential of Esport in Digital Era

On December 3, 2023, VLU in collaboration with Versal Esports held “GENZ Esports Technology 2023”, connecting students from VLU and universities in the city with the Esports community, and engaging with experts, and exploring career opportunities in the field.

GENZ Esports Technology 2023 gathers many people who love Esports and technology, this is an opportunity for students to express their passion through fierce competition, engage in discussions with experts, and explore career prospects in the field.

As a part of the technology day, the “Adding Esports to Education: Future or Transience?” talk show attracted many students to participate and discover a new potential perspective of Esports. The program was led by speaker Le Tran Nhat Quang, Head of Ho Chi Minh City Regional Sales Department, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage Company Limited; Ms. Tra My Angel, Co-founder of Gems; KOL Noway (Nguyen Vu Long), Streamer and Gamer; and MC Remind, Streamer.

According to streamer Remind, Esports previously could be an unfamiliar definition to many people, but recently, Esports is not only games for entertainment but also a foundation for young people to express their talent and passion, simultaneously create positive career opportunities when Esports sector is continuously developing and attracting the attention of numerous fans.

Sharing the potential of Esports, a pioneering industry group in innovation in the digital industry, Ms. Tra My Angel shared: “SEA Games 30 is an important milestone marking the moment when Esports became a competition for the first time. This event is not only an important step forward for Vietnamese Esports, but also a representation for  the development of the entire Esports in the region. In particular, at the recent SEA Games 32, the Vietnamese Esports team won a historic Gold Medal. This is a proof for the increasingly strong development of Esports in the current digital age. To harness the full potential of this sector, young talents need to have determination and dedication, and be willing to put forth maximum efforts to achieve success.”

As a professional gamer and streamer, Noway believes that the key to be successful in any profession, even in Esports, is learning, constantly updating trends and accumulating extensive knowledge. Noway emphasized that once you have determined to pursue professionally, make efforts to become excellent one by cultivating and developing personal skills, building sustainable relationships and looking for opportunities to contribute useful value to the Esports community.

Although Esports is a potential sector in the era of digitalization and globalization, it cannot be denied that Esports is still a young sector with challenges that require experience and discovery. Le Tran Nhat Quang conceives: "Without beginning, there will be no success". Therefore, he encourages young people to pursue their passion, because perseverance and investing effort in achieving satisfactory goals will be the key to helping you succeed.

Within the framework of the day, the Final Round of "GenZ Esports Tournament 2023" unfolded intensely with 4 famous games: Champions Arena, Spider Tank, Valorant, and League of Legends. After 2 months of competing with many strong opponents, the team Daddy and Friend including members of Le Dang Khoa, Tran Nghiem Nhat Thien, and Pham Xuan Quang; the Betrayers team including Vo Tran Quoc Anh from Van Lang University won the First prize in League of Legends and Valorant.
