Potential Collaboration Opportunities with the University of Saint Joseph (Macau)

On October 28, 2024, Van Lang University welcomed a delegation from the University of Saint Joseph (Macau) to discuss potential collaboration opportunities. The meeting aimed to establish bilateral cooperation and enhance student development for both institutions. During the session, representatives from both universities engaged in discussions about fostering international-oriented research and teaching initiatives.

Prof. Zhang Shuguang, Vice President for External Affairs and a member of the Faculty of the Institute of Science and Engineering at the University of Saint Joseph, expressed a strong interest in creating impactful collaborative programs. He proposed the implementation of 3+2 and 2+2 programs for the Faculty of Nursing at Van Lang University. Additionally, Prof. Zhang suggested launching graduate programs and a 4+2 pathway for students wishing to pursue in-depth studies after graduation.

Aiming to connect the fields of healthcare, economics, and science, the University of Saint Joseph plans to host workshops and offer scholarships along with three-week short courses for 12 outstanding students in the future. Participants are required to have solid fundamental proficiency in Chinese and demonstrate high adaptability. The meeting successfully served as a bridge between the two institutions, contributing to the development of training programs aligned with the demands of the international labor market.
