Pharmacy Students Explore the Role of Pharmacists in Pharmaceutical Production and Distribution

On September 27, 2024, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Van Lang University, in collaboration with DAVIPHARM Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, hosted a workshop titled "The Role and Work of Pharmacists in Pharmaceutical Production and Distribution." The event aimed to provide students with practical insights into the profession, guided by the expertise of seasoned industry professionals.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Huong, Vice Dean and Acting Head of the Faculty of Pharmacy, shared that the event aimed to help students gain a deeper understanding of the pharmaceutical field and inspire them to study more effectively.

The workshop began with an engaging icebreaker activity, helping students gain a better understanding of DAVIPHARM. In her opening remarks, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Huong, Vice Dean and Acting Head of the Faculty of Pharmacy, emphasized, “This event aims to provide you with in-depth insights into the pharmaceutical field, particularly the roles and requirements in hospital supply chain operations. From here, you can develop a clearer perspective, greater knowledge, and motivation to excel in your studies. The pharmaceutical field is vast, and it is up to you to explore its possibilities.”

Mr. Mateusz, Head of the Computer System and Data Integrity Project Management Department, emphasized that consistency, responsibility, and carefulness are key qualities for pharmacists.

At the seminar, experts provided new insights into the opportunities and challenges within the pharmaceutical industry. Notably, Mr. Mateusz, Head of the Computer System and Data Integrity Project Management Department, shared his perspective on the recruitment criteria for roles involving digitization and data, stating: “There are no restrictions on academic backgrounds. Consistency, a strong sense of responsibility, honesty, meticulousness, and attention to detail are essential qualities for this field.”

Mr. Arunkumar Mudumalai, Director of Research and Development at DAVIPHARM, emphasized that drug development requires patience, effective teamwork, and adaptability.

Not only did the event provide valuable insights into the pharmaceutical industry, but it also inspired students to pursue their careers with passion. “Drug development is a long, complex, and challenging process, making patience a crucial factor. Moreover, teamwork plays an equally significant role, as it is a collective effort that demands effective collaboration. Finally, adaptability is essential, allowing us to respond to unexpected changes during the development process,” affirmed Mr. Arunkumar Mudumalai, Director of Research and Development at DAVIPHARM.
