Party Cell 2 – Van Lang University Holds Thematic Meeting on Domestic Current Affairs

On April 24, 2025, Party Cell 2 of Van Lang University Party Committee organized a thematic meeting for Party members under the topic "Domestic Current Affairs”. The event was attended by Mr. Lam Huu Duc,  Former Head of the Division of Culture and Arts, Propaganda and Education Commission of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Tuan - Secretary of the Party Committee and Permanent Vice President of Van Lang University, along with all Party members of Party Cell 2.

During the meeting, Mr. Lam Huu Duc provided updates and in-depth analysis of recent developments in current affairs. His speech focused on two main areas: international and domestic affairs, helping Party members identify both the opportunities and challenges facing Vietnam.

Regarding international matters, Mr. Duc discussed the new tariff policies of the United States and their direct impact on Vietnam’s economy, particularly in export activities. These developments not only create pressure on businesses but also pose strategic challenges in international negotiations and the protection of national interests. He also provided an in-depth analysis of the leadership role of the General Secretaries and the Government of Vietnam in maintaining diplomatic dialogue and balancing policies.

In terms of domestic affairs, the presentation highlighted Vietnam’s notable achievements in the 50 years since the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, from economic and foreign affairs to education, culture, and innovation. Additionally, the ongoing process of streamlining the administrative system and merging provinces and cities was evaluated as a strategic move to enhance operational efficiency and optimize national resources.

In a solemn yet open atmosphere, Party members of Cell 2 engaged in active discussion, posed questions, and shared viewpoints on pressing socio-political issues. These discussions reflected the members’ proactive approach to staying informed about current affairs, strengthening their political awareness and sense of responsibility as Party members in an educational institution.

Van Lang University Party Committee also commended and presented Certificates of Merit to Party members who had excellently fulfilled their duties in 2024, recognizing and encouraging their dedicated contributions to the collective.

Through this thematic meeting, Party Cell 2 reaffirmed the role of the Party organization in enhancing political awareness, inspiring enthusiasm, and promoting a pioneering spirit among Party members – thereby contributing to the dissemination of core values in Party building and the development of Van Lang University.
