By engaging with and exploring the information and needs of over 150 companies present at VLU's Job Fair 2024, many Van Lang University students applied for internship and specialist positions at reputable enterprises.
On May 4, 2024, Van Lang University inaugurated the VLU’s Job Fair 2024, themed “Digital Career Expo.” This event connected Van Lang University students with employers, offering attractive internship and job opportunities in the digital age. This year's Job Fair featured a series of activities from May 4 to May 31, 2024, including direct recruitment at Van Lang University's main campus and online recruitment through the university's E-Job portal.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, President of Van Lang University, emphasized the university's educational philosophy of experiential learning. She stated that the institution aims to train students to become well-rounded individuals with ethics, lifelong learning capabilities, and the ability to positively impact society. This philosophy is only achievable with the active support and collaboration of businesses. "Today's event addresses a societal issue - the Digital Career. With the new demands of businesses and the rapid advancement of technology and artificial intelligence, Van Lang University faces the challenge of training students to quickly adapt to changes they have not encountered during their studies." shared Assoc. As part of the event, Van Lang University signed MOUs with 14 companies, expanding its network of partnerships and offering more opportunities for internships, practicums, and employment for students.

As a partner that has accompanied and accepted many students and alumni from Van Lang University for internships and employment, Mr. Nguyen Cao Thang, Deputy Director of the Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank Branch, praised the university’s quality of training, as well as the competence and enthusiasm of Van Lang University students: “At Sacombank, many alumni from Van Lang University are currently working as employees, specialists, and senior specialists. I hope that you can continue to uphold these values and demonstrate your abilities and passion, regardless of where you work.”.

According to the report from the Student Success Center, VLU’s Job Fair attracted many reputable domestic and international companies participating in the event to offer consultations and recruit Van Lang University students. Notably, 2% of these companies were startups founded by current and former Van Lang University students. With the theme "Digital Career Expo," MSc. Ngo Cao Hoai Linh, Director of the Center, stated that the 2024 job fair aims to collaborate with businesses to address the challenges of human resources and the job market amid rapid technological changes.

Bringing internship and employment opportunities in Japan with attractive salaries for Van Lang University students, Mr. Nguyen Trung Quan, Head of Recruitment for Engineers at Tam Viet Group, highlighted Japan as a potential labor market that is attracting many young talents from neighboring countries. “At VLU’s Job Fair 2024, we have designed a recruitment program targeting students in tourism and hospitality, Oriental studies, and foreign language groups to identify potential candidates who wish to change their working environment and take on challenges in Tokyo, Okinawa, and Osaka, Japan.”

Despite being only a sophomore, Luong Minh Thu from Course 28 of the Public Relations major proactively sought out experience opportunities at the job fair. Thu shared that she had explored various business booths and received valuable advice from the representatives. “This morning, I applied for a Marketing internship position at TESOL Simple Education. The experts reviewed and edited each detail of my CV, making it more concise and effective.”




Attending the event, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh, Chairman of Harvey & Morris, highlighted the high level of competition in the law major today, which requires each candidate to have exceptional skills to stand out to employers. Mr. Hoang Minh emphasized that the most desired qualities in candidates are patience, a willingness to learn, and a solid knowledge base, especially critical thinking skills: “You need to think about and plan your future path to develop the most suitable skills and abilities for the job you want to apply for.”


As an annual event, VLU’s Job Fair is a space for Van Lang University students to connect with experts and company representatives, update themselves on the job market, and understand employer demands. Additionally, this event provides the University with a chance to collaborate with partners, supporting students in proactively finding reputable internships and employment opportunities after graduation, and accumulating practical experience relevant to their field of study.
