In recent years, with modern facilities and an expanding cooperation network with more than 30 partners who are universities and businesses from Korea, Van Lang University is the place to co-organize many meaningful Vietnamese-Korean academic and cultural exchange activities such as Korean music night (September 2022), Korean literature translation class, book launching event "A collection of Korean contemporary short stories" and so on. This contributes to enriching student life and, at the same time, provides many opportunities for learning and practical experience for Van Lang students.
On the afternoon of September 6, 2022, Van Lang University cooperated with Hong Bang International University and Ho Chi Minh University of Economics and Finance to organize a class, "Korean Traditional Dance". The program is part of a series of events to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Vietnam-Korea relations, sponsored by Life Plaza Magazine and guided by the famous Korean folk dance artist Yeom Bok-ri from Cheon-an City Dance Troupe.
Attending the first opening ceremony, 24 students were graciously welcomed by the organizers. Although the adverse weather situation caused the flight to be delayed, leaving less time than anticipated to interact with the artist, instructors dedicatedly guided the classroom regulations and introduced the main contents that will be covered from September 6 to September 11, 2022. Under the guidance of artist Yeom Bok-ri, the students took basic steps to prepare for the upcoming learning process.
In the coming lessons, the class will learn and practice two main dances "The Blue Flowers of the Saigon River" and "The Reign of Piece". These are 02 dances choreographed with special meaning, expressing the desire to keep peace and pray for prosperity for the two countries.
As planned, after the end of the dance class, students can have an opportunity to perform at the friendship music night to celebrate the sustainable cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Korea, which is expected to take place in November this year.
