From August 23 to 26, 2025, the External Evaluation Team from the Saigon Centre for Educational Quality Accreditation (CEA-SAIGON) conducted the official evaluation visit for six academic programs at Van Lang University. The programs under evaluation include four master’s programs - Applied Arts, Hospitality Management, Accounting, and Economic Law - and two undergraduate programs - Piano Performance and Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology.
During the four-day visit, the External Evaluation Team carried out a comprehensive set of activities, including reviewing documentation, meeting with academic councils, and interviewing faculty, staff, students, alumni, and employers. The team also conducted on-site inspections of facilities to assess how well they support teaching and learning.
Throughout the process, the team engaged with seven stakeholder groups: University leaders and administrative units; Academic Managers and Faculty; Alumni; Employers; Current Students; Support Staff; and Collective Representatives. Based on these discussions, the team identified the strengths and limitations of each program, provided recommendations for improvement in all evaluation criteria, as well as presented key contents during the Closing Session on the afternoon of August 26, 2025.
Speaking at the Closing Session, Dr. Duong Mong Ha, Director of CEA-SAIGON and Head of the External Evaluation Team, stated: “The six programs reviewed this time have achieved results that surpass many evaluations we have conducted in 2025. She highlighted the importance of articulating program learning outcomes by competency groups, ensuring they align with Van Lang University’s educational philosophy and experiential learning model. The team also recommended further development of digital assessment systems to improve accuracy and ensure output quality standards.
