On November 9, 2022, the Honors Program organized the "Honors Talk #05: 7 Colors of Soul Development" with the theme "Nurturing Mental Health." The event aimed to help students address their concerns regarding stress in studying, personal life, loss of direction in academics, quarter-life crisis, peer pressure, and, more importantly, depression. The talk aimed to provide a platform for students to seek answers and guidance in dealing with these challenges and to prioritize their mental well-being.

The event had the participation of the Development Board of the Honors Program, students from the Honors Program, and guest speaker Trang Jena Nguyen - Co-founder of Survival Skill Vietnam and a former student of the University of Victoria (Australia).

Guest speaker Trang Jena Nguyễn shared, “Through the workshop, my aim is to present to you a picture of the colors representing spiritual values, a picture that has been and is being applied to society as a whole and to individuals in particular. This will be a psychological tool to help you identify the challenges you are facing and guide you in finding appropriate measures to prevent and nurture your own mental well-being.”

Throughout the event, guest speaker Trang Jena Nguyen shared practical examples of the mental pressures that young people are facing, offering effective prevention and care methods. The students actively participated in the "Mindful Breathing" activity, guided by Trang Jena Nguyen, which helped them relax their minds after class.

The Honorees also had the opportunity to explore the "Spiral Dynamics Model," which provides an overview of the 7 colors representing 7 levels of spiritual value development. Through this, the students could identify any missing aspects of their spiritual value framework and recognize the factors leading to conflicts in their relationships. The "Spiral Dynamics Model" also offered a holistic understanding of profound values in the soul and the importance of empathy in family, friendships, and professional relationships.

At the end of the workshop, the students showcased their creative talents by embodying the role of "artists" and painting a picture using colors that represented their own souls. Through their artwork, they conveyed messages aimed at raising awareness of spiritual values within the community, particularly among the young Van Lang students. It was a wonderful opportunity for self-expression and for sharing their unique perspectives on nurturing mental well-being.

We hope that the valuable information from the workshop will equip the Honorees with the confidence to overcome the "invisible barriers" regarding mental well-being and find opportunities for personal growth in the future. We believe that they have gained important skills and awareness to nurture their mental health and build a meaningful life. Keep striving and exploring your potential!
