On the morning of May 18, 2025, Van Lang University welcomed nearly 900 candidates from across the country to participate in the second round of the 2025 Aptitude Test in Drawing, Fine Arts Drawing, Decorative Drawing, Music Aptitude, and Performing Arts Aptitude.
According to the Admissions Council, this year’s second round of the Aptitude Test attracted nearly 900 candidates registering for concentrated testing, divided into two sessions – morning and afternoon – held at the Main Campus of Van Lang University (69/68 Dang Thuy Tram Street, Ward 13, Binh Thanh District). The test results are used for admission to aptitude-based majors at the University: Graphic Design, Digital Art Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design, Product Design (Industrial Design), Architecture, Piano, Vocal Performance, Film and Television Directing, Theater Acting, and Film and Television.
In the Drawing exam rooms, candidates were highly focused. The Admissions Council expects to see works demonstrating aesthetic sense, good technique, creativity, personality, and unique artistic thinking from each candidate.
In the Music Aptitude area, melodies from instruments, voices, and the passionate eyes of candidates created an atmospheric scene. Each performance reflected a burning passion for the performing arts.
For the Performing Arts majors, practical exams in acting and directing brought a wide range of emotions. From intimate scenes to energetic performances, candidates left a strong impression on the judging panel.
During the waiting time, many parents were anxious, their eyes constantly watching the exam area. Ms. Pham Le Hang, parent of candidate Truong Pham Thao Vy (Pham Ngu Lao Secondary and High School), shared: “I am very worried as my daughter prepares for this important exam, unsure which learning environment will best support her comprehensive development. I am impressed by Van Lang’s dynamic, modern environment and good communication, so I hope my daughter can study here. She shares this wish because she loves singing and especially enjoys an environment with many student activities, where she can study and express herself. She told me she needs a modern and creative space to develop, and Van Lang is the place she chose.”
Candidate Truong Pham Thao Vy, applying for Vocal Performance, shared: “I am very satisfied with today’s exam. Having previous performance experience, I was quite confident singing three songs. What worried me most was the Sight Singing section – I had never encountered it before and only started learning it when I decided to register. What impressed me was Van Lang University’s very thoughtful and professional exam organization. The school arranged mirrors for candidates to prepare before the exam, provided pianos for practice, and created comfortable rest areas for both parents and candidates. Although the campus is quite large and I got a bit lost finding my room, there were always kind and enthusiastic staff helping me, which made me feel much more secure. Actually, I was hesitant between many schools before, but after today, Van Lang has become my top choice.”
The second round of the Aptitude Test has concluded with many emotions and beautiful impressions, opening opportunities for candidates to soon become freshmen of Van Lang University’s Class 31 in the new academic year - carrying a spirit of passion and unlimited creativity. Van Lang believes that from these moments of effort at the start, new artistic talents will be nurtured and shine in the near future.
