On June 11, 2026, Caravelle Saigon Hotel and Van Lang University solemnly held the Signing Ceremony of a Strategic Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The event marked an important milestone in strengthening the partnership between the university and the business sector, aiming to enhance training quality and expand learning, internship, and career development opportunities for students in Tourism and Hospitality.

The strategic cooperation signing ceremony between Caravelle Saigon Hotel and Van Lang University served as a significant milestone in reinforcing the relationship between the two institutions. Through the Memorandum of Understanding, both parties aim to leverage their respective strengths, enhance connection and mutual support in their operations, and contribute to the development of high-quality education.

The event not only demonstrated Van Lang University’s practice-oriented training approach but also opened up practical cooperation opportunities between the academic environment and the professional business sector. In particular, the partnership with Caravelle Saigon, an internationally recognized five-star hotel icon in Ho Chi Minh City, is expected to provide students with valuable real-world experiences throughout their learning and career development journey.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of senior leaders from both Caravelle Saigon Hotel and Van Lang University.

Representing Van Lang University were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu – President of the University, Dr. Do Thi Mai Doan Thuc – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Linh, M.A. – Deputy Head of the Hotel Management Department, along with lecturers from the Faculty of Tourism. Representing Caravelle Saigon were Mr. Scott Alan Hodgetts – General Director, Mr. Erwin R. Popov – General Manager, and the hotel’s departmental directors.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Scott Alan Hodgetts and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu both expressed strong confidence in the strategic partnership between the two sides. Representatives of both institutions affirmed that the connection between a reputable educational institution and an internationally acclaimed five-star hotel would create favorable conditions for students to access real working environments, enhance their professional competencies, and better prepare for careers in the hospitality field of Hotel Management.

Through this cooperation agreement, Van Lang University and Caravelle Saigon Hotel expect to jointly develop various activities that connect training with professional practice. This serves as an important foundation for students in Tourism and Hospitality to gain more opportunities for learning, internships, professional workplace exposure, and the accumulation of essential skills before entering the labor market. Cooperation with reputable enterprises in the tourism and hospitality sectors also contributes to improving the quality of application-oriented training, helping students not only strengthen their professional knowledge but also develop adaptability, communication skills, and the ability to grow in an international-standard working environment.

Following the signing ceremony, the program continued with an inspiring “Career Sharing” session. During this session, 30 outstanding students from Van Lang University had the opportunity to engage in direct dialogue with the Management Board of Caravelle Saigon Hotel.

Within the framework of the discussion, students raised many questions related to recruitment criteria, tips for standing out in a five-star hotel environment, as well as the opportunities and challenges of the hospitality industry in the current context. Practical insights shared by the hotel management team helped students gain a clearer understanding of career requirements, thereby better shaping their learning pathways and personal development.

To conclude the program, students from Van Lang University joined a special Hotel Tour at Caravelle Saigon Hotel. Under the guidance of the Caravelle Saigon Training team, students had the opportunity to directly visit, observe, and learn about actual operating procedures in the hotel’s premium areas.

This experiential activity allowed students to gain closer access to a professional working environment in the hotel industry, while also providing strong motivation for their future career journey. It was also an opportunity for students to better understand service standards, workplace culture, and professional requirements at an international five-star hotel.

The strategic cooperation signing ceremony between Caravelle Saigon Hotel and Van Lang University was successfully held, opening a promising new chapter in the partnership between the university and the business sector.

The event not only contributed to strengthening the connection between training and practice but also affirmed Van Lang University’s commitment to accompanying enterprises in developing high-quality human resources for the Tourism and Hospitality industry.
