On this visit to sign a cooperation agreement, the Tuoi Tre Newspaper delegation had the opportunity to explore the infrastructure and the advanced converged newsroom model designed to train media students at Van Lang University.

The academic program will be designed with a practical focus, emphasizing hands-on experience and the production of real-world media products. For the first time, students will have the opportunity to learn News Evaluation and Photography courses directly at Tuoi Tre Newspaper, both in the newsroom and in the field. Experienced reporters, editors, and managers from Tuoi Tre will personally instruct the students, ensuring they not only grasp foundational knowledge in journalism and photography but also participate in the full production process—from news gathering, assessment, and processing, to publishing the news.

In addition to providing foundational knowledge and on-site practice, the Heads of Tuoi Tre Newspaper will assign students from Course 29 of the Honors Program in Public Relations and Multimedia Communications to various departments, where reporters and editors will guide them through real events and the production of actual media products.

As a student who will soon be part of this new communication model, Huynh Quang Vinh,  a student from Course 29 of the Public Relations major in the Honors Program, expressed his excitement about the two upcoming courses at Tuoi Tre Newspaper. He stated that learning directly from journalists would allow students to gain practical experience, providing opportunities to engage in professional news production processes, and thus, developing in-depth skills such as evaluation, analysis, and information production.

Discussing this teaching model, Dr. Vo Van Tuan, Party Committee Secretary, Standing Vice President, and Dean of the Faculty of Public Relations and Communications, stated: Van Lang University views the collaborative training model with Tuoi Tre Newspaper as a significant step forward in improving the quality of higher education in Vietnam, particularly in the fields of journalism and communications. Dr. Vo Van Tuan expressed that: "VLU’s students will not only become skilled communicators but also pioneers in innovating information access, contributing to the enhancement of journalism and communication in Vietnam."
