On March 26, 2022, the Faculty of Fine Arts & Design in collaboration with Metacity, co-organized a Seminar called "Metaverse and Fine Art", marking the cooperation between Metacity and Van Lang University.
The seminar had the presence of VLU Interior Design lecturers and guests who are experts in the field, such as Mr. Bui Sy Nguyen - CEO and founder of Metacity, Mr. Le Anh Tuan - CEO of Metacity, and Mr. Trong Le - Director Design Director of Le House. Metacity is a project established to follow the "waves of technology trends." This is also the first Metaverse project to embrace the concept of “co-creation” in the architectural design industry. With a vision to build a sustainable, limitless ecosystem, Metacity is currently nurturing talented architects and designers to create a professional network, build sustainable values, and unbound the scale of the ecosystem.
The seminar "Metaverse and Fine Art" is organized to help students understand an ideal working environment with limitless creativity and bring a unique, novel, and imaginative Metacity to the audience who are future interior designers. With the moderation of the Host, Ms. Hoang Thai Ly, the sharing session between students and guests took place in an open and inspiring atmosphere. From the perspective of an expert in the applied arts industry, Mr. Bui Sy Nguyen said that Metaverse could reshape the internet world in the future. Being invested in and developed by many "VIPs" in the technology industry, such as Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft, etc., Metacity will become a technology platform where users can create new components. The city is based on the principle of decentralized self-organization, which is highly democratic, allowing users to live, buy and sell, and build works based on core technologies: 3D graphics technology, r virtual reality technology, and Blockchain technology.
Talking about interior design trends in Metacity, Mr. Bui Sy Nguyen said that the works are designed directly on Metacity's tools or indirectly from traditional applications and softwares. At Metacity, you can freely "fly" with your unique ideas without being limited within playing and doing, within the difference between professionals and amateurs. Interior designers in Metacity can create materials, products, and get paid in the real world, and are protected from intellectual property rights in accordance with Metacity's policy.
According to Mr. Le Anh Tuan and Mr. Trong Le, at Metacity, designers can freely design their own products. Interior Designers are not only limited to designing consumer products such as tables, chairs, cabinets, beds,... but can confidently design and accompany investors to build ideas for public structures such as houses, shops,... by taking advantage of all the surrounding inspirations without worrying about their feasibility.
Talking about the opportunities and challenges for the Creative Design Industry in Metacity, according to the speakers, with Metaverse in general and Metacity in particular, designers do not need to worry about the issues of materials, investment capital,...; they can freely create the works they wish. However, balancing work between the "real" world and the "super universe" world is also one of the challenges for future designers.
The seminar attracted many students of the 25th, 26th, 27th course and even former students of Interior Design to attend and raise many remarkable questions. Students of the 27th course who asked questions received a special gift from Mr. Hoang Phuc - a familiar name who has supported painting tools for students of the Faculty of Fine Arts & Design for many years. Participating in the Seminar, in addition to exchanging and interacting with the speakers, the students also had the opportunity to register for an internship and receive a meaningful and useful minigame gifts from Metacity. Hopefully after the seminar, the students will have more interesting knowledge to serve their work in the future.
