Over the course of two days, on the 9th and 10th of April, Dr. Tran Nhat Phuong, a lecturer from the Faculty of Medicine at Van Lang University, along with doctors and experts from the National University of Ho Chi Minh City and the Pasteur Institute, organized the first training session for the healthcare staff in Chu Se District (Gia Lai province). This activity is part of the International Project for Community Health Improvement "Knowledge Transfer to Enhance the Treatment and Prevention of Hepatitis B Virus," funded by the German Government and led by the Vietnam-Germany Bridge Association in Berlin.

On April 9th, 2022, at the Chu Se District Healthcare Center, the participating faculty academics included:
They conducted theoretical training, providing an overview of the Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) and transferring specialized knowledge to enhance the capacity of 30 healthcare staff in the treatment and prevention of HBV.
On April 10th, 2022, the program organized HBV examinations and screening for 500 women and children, while also administering the first dose of HBV vaccination at ‘Ia Ko’ commune, Chu Se District.

The International Project for Community Health Improvement, "Knowledge Transfer to Enhance the Treatment and Prevention of Hepatitis B Virus," is funded by the German Government through the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), under the leadership of the Vietnam -Germany Bridge Association in Berlin. This is the first HBV project in Vietnam sponsored by the German Government and implemented in Chu Se District, Gia Lai province. The project is led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hung Anh (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology) in collaboration with doctors and experts from the National University of Ho Chi Minh City, Van Lang University, and the Pasteur Institute, Ho Chi Minh City, and being carried out from November 2021 to July 2022.
Earlier, in December 2021, the Faculty of Medicine at Van Lang University collaborated with other institutions to organize the workshop "Knowledge Transfer to Enhance the Treatment and Prevention of Hepatitis B Virus (HBV)," bringing together experts from Van Lang University, the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ho Chi Minh City, the Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, and experts from Germany, with valuable and highly specialized presentations. This academic activity is also part of this meaningful community project.
