On October 5, 2024, the Young Scientists Conference successfully took place with the theme “Improving Legal Frameworks for National Digital Transformation – Directions, Vision, and Research Lessons for Vietnam.” The event was co-organized by Vietnamese Law School Network, Vinh University, and the University of Law-Hue University.

The conference provided an academic platform for young scholars, including lecturers, doctoral candidates, graduate students, and students under 35, to discuss the internal aspects of the national digital transformation process. The speakers offered solutions and recommendations for refining Vietnam’s legal system and enhancing law enforcement.
A group of authors from the Faculty of Law, Van Lang University, consisting of lecturer Mr. Le Ho Trung Hieu and students Nguyen Anh Thy and Tran Nguyen Thanh Giang, delivered an impressive presentation with their research paper titled: “Protection of Copyright in Higher Education from the Perspective of Artificial Intelligence Application: Solutions and Directions for Improvement in Vietnam.”

The paper focused on analyzing the challenges and opportunities related to intellectual property protection for academic products and teaching materials in the context of artificial intelligence (AI) applications in higher education. The authors emphasized the importance of developing appropriate legal regulations, from both the state’s perspective and the internal rules of educational institutions, to manage AI applications effectively. They also proposed specific solutions to strengthen copyright protection, ensuring the rights and obligations of both lecturers and students amid rapid technological advancements.

The panel discussion garnered attention and sparked lively discussions among experts and scientists at the conference, showcasing the meaningful contribution of young speakers from the Faculty of Law, Van Lang University, to improving the legal framework in Vietnam’s digital transformation context.
