On the evening of November 18, 2024, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Van Lang University’s establishment, the Faculty of Arts & Design organized a judging and exhibition of 16 lighting design works with the theme "Van Lang 30 Years." These projects were created by students from the Class 28 of the Interior Design Major.
The student groups participated in every stage of production, from sketching, material selection to assembly in the workshop. Additionally, they successfully met three important criteria: fitting with the theme, harmony with the surroundings, and achieving effective lighting. With a serious and creative work ethic, the students focused on perfecting every small detail in the drawings, carefully selecting each type of light—from white to warm lighting—to create distinctive artistic works. Each light, each design line was thoroughly calculated to ensure harmony in both aesthetics and functionality.

Each group cleverly coordinated their randomly assigned locations, analyzing surrounding factors such as architecture, lighting, and water surfaces to create a visual language combining light and nature, resulting in a magical light festival full of colors.

Dr. Le Long Vinh, Head of the Interior Design Major, expressed his pride: “This year, the Class 28 has excelled in their lighting experiments projects. Although the theme may not seem very diverse, as Van Lang students, they still conveyed emotions, perspectives, and deep love for the University through their works. Stories about Van Lang’s 30-year journey are told through light, creating a picturesque landscape.” Many symbolic elements of Van Lang University were recreated in the works, such as the logo, the rhythm of the Dong Son drum, the Lac bird, the timepiece, the 30-year milestone, and the boat symbolizing the devoted guidance of the teachers.

These projects also received support from Long Khang Technology Co., Ltd. - LK Technology, a partner of the Interior Design program in recent years. This year, LK Technology also sponsored the highest award for the group with the best results, offering a deserved reward and motivating students to continue striving in the future.
The projects were not merely academic assignments but also impressive works of art.
The projects were not just academic assignments but impressive works of art. Not only were they academic exercises, but the students also skillfully infused each project with meanings about time, creating vibrant and inspiring stories that showcase their pride in the 30-year development journey of Van Lang University. Furthermore, the works provided an opportunity for students to express their gratitude for the silent contributions of past generations of teachers and staff, showing deep appreciation to those who have dedicatedly guided and nurtured the success of Van Lang University.
