On the morning of January 24, 2026, in recognition of students’ dedication to academic excellence and personal development,  Van Lang University organized the Ceremony Honoring Outstanding Students of the 2024–2025 Academic Year. During the ceremony, 760 exceptional students were honored for their remarkable achievements. At the same time, 57 of the most exemplary students were officially announced as representatives of the University for the upcoming educational and cultural journey to Hung Kings Temple in Phu Tho Province.

Among more than 50,000 students, selecting the brightest individuals to be recognized at the Outstanding Student Honors Ceremony has always been one of the most anticipated events within the Van Lang student community. To be eligible for recognition, students underwent a rigorous selection process, through which the Organizing Committee carefully chose over 760 exceptional individuals. These honorees are not only academically accomplished students, but also exemplary representatives in scientific research, culture and the arts, as well as student and community engagement activities. Each title awarded serves as well-deserved recognition for their perseverance, dedication, and continuous contributions throughout their academic journey.

“Try not to become a man of success, but rather to become a man of value.” Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu extended her heartfelt congratulations to all honored students. She emphasized the close connection between the titles of “Outstanding Student” and “Student of Five Merits,” noting that these achievements are not merely awards, but the result of sustained effort, disciplined learning, and personal growth throughout students’ years at university. The University President also expressed her expectation that every student recognized at the ceremony would become an “ambassador” spreading Van Lang University’s core values to the wider community.

Quoting the renowned scientist Albert Einstein, “Try not to become a man of success but rather to become a man of value,” she encouraged students not to limit themselves to the achievements they have already attained. Instead, they should use their knowledge, courage, and sense of social responsibility to address community challenges and contribute meaningful, sustainable values to society.

The most emotional moment of the ceremony was when lecturers and university leaders presented Certificates of Recognition to more than 760 students at Trinh Cong Son Hall. Along with the certificates, each student received a special gift set reflecting VLU identity, including a limited-edition Outstanding Student backpack and water bottle, symbolizing recognition of their remarkable journey. Carrying these backpacks, students are ready to take on the role of Van Lang University ambassadors, confidently pursuing knowledge and transforming their aspirations into reality.
