In order to provide students with an overview of the game industry, on May 14, 2025, the Faculty of Creative Technology, Van Lang University, in collaboration with Van Lang Saigon College and Digital Works Vietnam Co., Ltd., organized a seminar titled “Insights on Game design and today’s Game market.”

In his opening remarks, Dr. Vo Van Lac – Dean of the Faculty of Creative Technology – stated: “Understanding the market and the influence of AI on the game industry is not something students can easily grasp while they are still in school. Through this seminar, students have the opportunity to directly hear from industry professionals, gain clearer insights into market demands and talent requirements. From there, they can identify what to equip themselves with to confidently step into the job market.”

Dr. Vo Van Lac expressed his hope that students would be well-prepared to join the workforce after the seminar.

At the seminar, Mr. Kaise Takahiro - General Director of Digital Works Vietnam Co., Ltd. - introduced various popular game character design styles such as 2D, 3D, anime, monsters, and zombies. He also revealed a key factor in creating games that resonate with players: thoroughly understanding users’ behaviors and emotions. According to him, the principle of “knowing oneself and knowing others” enables game developers to produce products that not only meet market preferences but also convey their unique creative identities.

Mr. Kaise Takahiro – General Director of Digital Works Vietnam Co., Ltd. - emphasized the role of AI in modern game production.

In addition, he highlighted AI’s pivotal role in enhancing user interaction and diversifying game genres in modern development processes. However, he also asserted: “AI can support up to 90% of the workload, but the remaining 10% – which lies in creativity, emotions, and the ability to multitask – still belongs to humans. That’s why the game industry continues to need highly skilled talent, not only with strong expertise but also with versatile abilities such as scriptwriting and coding.”

With its rapid and explosive growth, the game industry has become one of the most competitive markets globally. However, in the face of AI’s increasing dominance, human professionals must continuously enhance their expertise, broaden their knowledge, cultivate depth, and foster limitless creativity to become an irreplaceable workforce.
