Finance-Accounting Alumni Homecoming: A Day of Connection and Gratitude

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Van Lang University, the Faculty of Finance & Banking and the Faculty of Accounting & Auditing jointly hosted the “Finance – Accounting Alumni Day” on March 29, 2025. The event welcomed nearly 300 alumni from Class 1 to Class 25 back to the university.

The reunion was a meaningful opportunity for Finance - Accounting alumni to reconnect, relive memories, and continue spreading the VLU spirit.

Mr. Dam Ba Tin, an alumnus from Class 1 in Corporate Finance, Director of a VietBank branch office and Head of the Organizing Committee. He shared, “The facilities are now more modern, the campus has grown, and students enjoy a much better learning environment. What makes me proudest is seeing how VLU continues to develop, nurturing talented generations for the country.”

He reflected fondly, “Back in 1995, the Faculty of Finance – Accounting was one of the most active and highly regarded faculties for organizing student activities. Those dynamic student years taught me about responsibility and the value of teamwork.”

Ms. Phan Minh Nguyet, a Finance & Banking alumna from Class 10 and now a lecturer at the Faculty of Accounting – Auditing, shared her heartfelt story of becoming a teacher. Her passion for education began in her student days, inspired by the engaging teaching methods in her “Principles of Accounting” course. With over 16 years of dedication to education, she remains deeply committed to the calling and cherishes every moment in the classroom.

For Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, a Finance & Banking alumna from Class 24 and now a graduate student in the same field, VLU is more than just a university - it’s a second home filled with cherished memories. Returning to campus, she felt deeply nostalgic and happy. She recalled a time during her student years when an incident left her in tears. It was the warm encouragement from Ms. Quynh, a lecturer in the Faculty of Finance-Banking, that helped her through it. “Sometimes, it’s the little things that leave the biggest influence on our life's journey,” she shared.

The 2025 “Finance - Accounting Alumni Day” was a heartwarming occasion to rekindle memories and strengthen the bond between generations of students from the Faculties of Finance & Banking and Accounting & Auditing. Though everyone is now on their own journey, coming back to university always brings a shared pride in once being part of VLU’s remarkable story.
