On May 23 and 25, 2025, the Fashion Design major of the Faculty of Arts & Design – Van Lang University organized the final evaluation session for the “Textile for Fashion Design” course, involving over 170 students. The assessments provided a comprehensive review of each student’s learning journey, research process, and product development throughout the course.

The Textile for Fashion Design course provides foundational knowledge about the structure, composition, and properties of fibers, woven fabrics, and garment accessories. Through practical exercises focused on surface decoration and material processing techniques, students develop specialized skills, creative thinking, and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world fashion design products.

Course projects were evaluated according to criteria emphasizing the integration and combination of artistic elements inspired by Hue’s cultural heritage. The projects highlighted harmony in color tones and proficiency in material handling via printing, dyeing, embroidery, and fabric bleaching methods. Students reported on their implementation process, applied techniques, and limitations in developing their ideas, showing critical thinking and design development ability.

Based on these presentations, the evaluation committee provided insightful feedback on each student’s aesthetic perspective and technical material processing skills. In addition, lecturers also offered various suggestions to help students overcome challenges, refine their work, enhance product applicability, and continue fostering creativity toward sustainable fashion development.
