On December 21, 2024, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Van Lang University held a workshop titled "Competency Analysis of Undergraduate Pharmacists Using the DACUM Method to Improve Outcome-Based Training Programs." The event aimed to develop a training curriculum for the pharmacy program according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Huong, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Van Lang University, emphasized the importance of gathering feedback from experienced professionals and employers to establish clear outcome standards for students.
Dr. Nguyen Thanh Thuy, an expert in accreditation and quality assurance for educational institutions in Vietnam, hosted the workshop and introduced the DACUM methodology and its processes. In addition, she presented three main discussion topics: Evaluating the Faculty’s current training methods, Highlighting key strengths to enhance the program's competitiveness, and Addressing international integration issues in pharmacy education.
Lecturers and representatives from medical institutions also participated in discussions and proposed practical solutions to strengthen students’ professional competencies, improve training quality, and enhance their international integration capabilities.
The workshop marked a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance the training quality of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Van Lang University, aiming to develop a curriculum aligned with the institution's mission and educational philosophy. This event reaffirmed the University’s commitment to training high-quality human resources and contributing to the overall development of the Pharmaceutical industry in Vietnam.
