To prepare students majoring in Law and Economic Law for the upcoming final internship semester, on December 27, 2025, the Faculty of Law at Van Lang University organized the program “Guidelines on Internship Planning and Regulations for Semester 252”, along with the career-orientation seminar “Legal Insight No.3 - Future Career Paths: From Startups and In-house Positions to Big 4 Firms or Government Agencies.” This activity provided practical perspectives on professional practice in the legal field, helping students gain clearer insights into potential career paths.

This internship semester not only fulfills academic training requirements but also equips students with supplementary knowledge and hands-on professional experience. Students may proactively choose their internship placements at organizations such as law offices, notary offices, or legal practice centers, provided they meet the Faculty’s requirements. After completing the internship period, students are required to submit an internship report and a reflective journal documenting their experience in accordance with the Faculty’s regulations.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh Le, Head of the Internship and Practicum Unit of the Faculty of Law, shared practical experiences regarding internships with students from Class 28 and 29.

During the seminar “Legal Insight No.3 - Future Career Paths: From Startups and In-house Positions to Big-4 Firms or Government Agencies,” students had the opportunity to hear insights from legal professionals working in different areas of the justice field, ranging from the court system to legal counsel, lawyers, and arbitrators. The “Legal Insight” series is an annual career-orientation program for students of the Faculty of Law.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Thuy, Dean of the Faculty of Law, chaired the session (in the middle, blue vest), together with guest speakers (from right to left): Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Hoa, Dr. Phan Trung Hoai (Attorney), Dr. Pham Thi Thu Phuong, and Mr. Tran Quy An (Attorney).

Throughout the discussion session, students raised many questions about real-world practice, such as the use of AI technology in legal work and job opportunities in government agencies or foreign law firms. In response, the experts agreed that while the application of technological advancements in legal practice is essential, lawyers continue to play a central role in litigation and mediation, contributing to transparent and fair investigation and trial processes. Meanwhile, positions such as legal officers or administrative staff in legal organizations—especially within government agencies—are also valuable environments for students to gain experience, develop professional working styles, and understand workplace culture. In particular, in the context of regional integration and multinational development, foreign language proficiency plays a crucial role for legal professionals. Therefore, students are encouraged to continuously improve their English during their university years and consistently practice communication in foreign languages.

The Faculty of Law at Van Lang University was first established in 1995 under the name “Faculty of Business Law” and operated until 1997. In 2017, the Faculty of Economic Law was officially re-established, marking the continuation of legal education after a 20-year hiatus.

Since 2018, the Faculty has officially been renamed the Faculty of Law. It currently offers two undergraduate programs: Law and Economic Law. In addition, it also provides a Master’s program in Economic Law.
