On December 10, 2024, the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture at Van Lang University held the closing ceremony for the “2024 Korean Language Teacher Training Program.” After two months of intensive training, which included 32 theory sessions, practice and internships at various schools, the program has contributed to enhancing the quality of human resources and meeting the increasing demand for Korean language education in Vietnam.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu - President of Van Lang University noted that this is the first teacher training program, marking an important milestone in the faculty's development. The trust and choice of many students to participate in the advanced course in Korea are also a testament to the program's success. With the inspiring phrase: “Learn one language - lives one more life”, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu hopes the program will continue to nurture a love for the Korean language and culture among students, laying the groundwork for them to become inspirers of knowledge for future generations.
Eom Min Young - an education specialist at the Korean Language Center in Ho Chi Minh City, congratulated the 29 students who successfully completed 105 hours of intensive study, continuously improving their professional skills as required by the program. She also expressed deep gratitude to the lecturers at Van Lang University, believing that the program's success will help each student enhance their professional knowledge and develop their careers.
Vu Thi Thuy Trang - a student of Class 27 of the Korean Language and Culture program and is also one of the four students selected to continue training in Korea, shared that thanks to the dedicated guidance from the lecturers and practical experiences, she has gained confidence in exploring her potential. The opportunity to study in Korea is a great honor and serves as motivation for her to continue contributing to Korean language education in Vietnam.
After two months of operation, the program has helped build a high-quality team of Korean language teachers, thereby enhancing the status of the Korean language in the Vietnamese education system. Furthermore, it serves as a solid bridge to promote friendship and cultural exchange between the two countries, opening up hopes for strong collaborative development in the future.
