Expanding international academic exchange opportunities for Automotive Engineering Technology students

Continuing the series of collaborative activities with international universities, on February 22, 2024, the Faculty of Automotive Engineering Technology of Van Lang University welcomed a delegation of lecturers and students from La Croix Rouge In Brest (France) for cultural exchange and discussion on student research in the field of Automotive Engineering Technology.

Following the "Practical Applications of IoT Technology" scientific workshop, which was co-organized with Université De Bretagne Occidentale (UBO, France) in June 2023, Dr. Claude Vo continued to accompany Van Lang University, in collaboration with La Croix Rouge School, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, and Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH), to organize a seminar for academic exchange and research cooperation for students majoring in Automotive Engineering Technology.

After the scientific workshop jointly organized by Van Lang University and Université De Bretagne Occidentale, Dr. Claude Vo returned to Vietnam to establish a connection between the Faculty of Automotive Engineering Technology and La Croix Rouge School. 

The workshop focused on discussions and presentations of research findings centered around three main topics: The application of WiFi in autonomous vehicle systems; Vehicle positioning through Lorawan software; and Research and development of autonomous driving features for model cars. In their presentation, a group of students from Van Lang University highlighted the impact of IoT on Vietnam's industry in particular and the world in general. They also presented research models of autonomous vehicles utilizing WiFi technology, aiming to reduce costs and labor risks, ensure accuracy, and enhance work efficiency.

The group of students from La Croix Rouge School shared with Vietnamese students some useful software applications that help locate cars at a distance.

Participating in the workshop, the research team from La Croix Rouge School introduced new chip models that are currently tested to support tasks related to locating vehicles. At the same time, the team also introduced Vietnamese students to some useful software applications in the research process, such as NodeJS, OpenStreetMap, and Lorawan.

During the panel discussion, experts from Van Lang University, La Croix Rouge School, and Nguyen Tat Thanh University supported students from both countries in addressing questions regarding academic disciplines, development trends, and research directions in the field.

During the visit, the French faculty and students accompanied Vietnamese students to visit the Ho Chi Minh City Museum and participated in friendly football matches together. The fair-play matches have created many beautiful memories, encouraged sportsmanship, and fostered community cohesion among the participants.

Based on fruitful cooperation that brings practical value to students, the Faculty of Automotive Engineering Technology of Van Lang University and La Croix Rouge School will continue to collaborate, expand the scope of connection activities, and create conditions for international exchange for students. It is planned that every June the two schools will continue to organize international exchange programs, providing an extended platform for scientific research for students in the Automotive Engineering Technology field.
