On December 26th 2024, the Institute of Postgraduate Education of Van Lang University organized a seminar with the topic “D-T-Muon Catalyzed Fusion.” Led by Prof. Emiko Hiyama - scientist from Tohoku University and RIKEN Institute (Japan), the seminar aimed to enhance the research capacity of lecturers, researchers, postgraduates and undergraduates.
The seminar focused on the research topic "D-T-Muon Catalyzed Fusion" - a method utilizing muons to catalyze nuclear fusion reactions between deuterium (D) and tritium (T). The speakers introduced and delved deeply into the advancements and challenges in production and development costs within the field of nuclear energy. Additionally, the seminar provided a chance for participants to exchange knowledge and experiences in nuclear physics, clean energy and future research directions.
During the seminar, lecturers, researchers, postgraduates and undergraduates gained further insights into nuclear physics and challenges of nuclear fusion technology. In addition, the event served as a stepping stone to fostering international collaboration and enhancing research capacity, contributing to the growth of the scientific community in Vietnam.
