Lieutenant Colonel Bui Thai Duc – Chief Specialist at the Advisory Division, Ho Chi Minh City Police Department - attended and shared his expertise with VLU students.

With years of experience in cybersecurity and digital literacy training, Lieutenant Colonel Bui Thai Duc delivered an engaging and practical session. Through vivid examples, he helped students recognize common cyber threats such as phishing scams, fake banking messages, unauthorized data collection apps, and password theft via public Wi-Fi. He also offered clear solutions to protect personal accounts, improve device security, and use social media responsibly and respectfully.

As digital transformation accelerates, cyberspace has become inseparable from student life – whether for studying, working, socializing, or self-expression. However, convenience comes with growing and unpredictable risks.

Lieutenant Colonel Bui Thai Duc emphasized to VLU students: “Cyberspace isn’t as ‘virtual’ as we often think. Every online action leaves a trace and comes with legal accountability. Young people must stay alert, proactive, and respectful to avoid becoming victims or violators in this digital era.”

The “Cybersecurity – Staying Strong in the Digital Era” seminar was not just a knowledge-sharing session, but a powerful reminder of the responsibilities young people must uphold in today’s digital age. VLU’s Youth Union and Student Association will continue to organize similar seminars and offer training in soft skills and digital literacy to support students as they grow, not only into skilled professionals, but also into resilient individuals ready to face the challenges of the digital world.
