Recently, students of Class 30 majoring in Digital Art and Design completed more than 170 models inspired by traditional Vietnamese culture as part of the Character Sculpture course. Through researching folk materials and developing character forms connected to settings, folktales, and cultural symbols, students transformed these elements into sculptural forms imbued with a contemporary spirit.
Character Sculpture is a course for second-year students, focusing on developing character-form thinking, storytelling through space and composition, and building awareness of the role of cultural interpretation in digital arts and design. Mr. Le Truong Bao, Head of the Digital Art and Design program, shared: “Students are not just creating a character; they are learning how to shape cultural memory through block form. This is the long-term foundation of Digital Art and Design in the AI era, where machines can work fast, but only humans truly understand their roots.”
