Developing a Strong VLU Alumni Community

On August 13th, 2022, Van Lang University (VLU) held a meeting between the University Board members and VLU alumni to connect and develop the alumni community. This is a special opportunity for nearly 500 Van Lang alumni to listen to the sharing and orientation from the University and dialogue with the alumni of the previous generations. VLU accompanies the career paths of alumni and expects alumni’s collaborative connections in new roles.

Dr. Nguyen Cao Tri, Chairman of the Board of Van Lang University sent a meaningful message to alumni: "With the mission of elevating Vietnam's value to the world, Van Lang Education Group builds an innovative education ecosystem. Each VLU alumnus represents the image of the University and brings it to the community and society. VLU wishes to create a strong alumni community (VLU Alumni), so that you yourself will bring the quintessence you have studied back to the University to connect, help and develop together through practical activities.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu (President) shared: "Alumni are an important force contributing to the development of the University. I appreciate the contributions of VLU alumni throughout the past years through community projects, career counseling and job recruitment. I hope that after today's meeting, you will understand more about VLU's orientations for the alumni community in the near future and realize your responsibility as a VLU alumnus, who inspires the next generations."

VLU Alumni Association is a place to build and connect the alumni and student community through events, academic seminars, community seminars, Clubs / Teams / Groups. The University maintains an information channel through the Alumni Liaison Committee to help students stay informed in a timely manner and seek employment opportunities at the University. The Postgraduate Institute may be the next home for you to access Master and Doctoral programs with many scholarship policies for alumni.

In the discussion section, the graduates of 2022 also had the opportunity to have a conversation with other alumni who have achieved many successes in their careers:

• Mr. Ly Quang Thang – Co-founder of Koina Agricultural Ecosystem, Alumnus of the Cohort 9, Faculty of Business Administration;
• MC Thanh Phuong – Producer/Editor/TV MC, Alumnus of the Cohort 11, Faculty of Business Administration;
• Mr. Ngo Manh Dong – Designer/Founder of 3 brands: NMDD, JEWELRY, Le Beau, Lecturer in Fashion Design at Van Lang University; Alumnus of the Cohort 17, Faculty of Arts and Design.

Mr. Lee Quang Thang confided: "When we first graduate, we will have many difficulties in our career, my advice to you is to always improve and train your capacity so as not to be left behind. When facing difficulties, don't give up, think that we can break limits, break barriers, and make a difference. Finally, always be proud to be a VLU student, no matter how far you go, this place will always be your home."
