On October 30, 2024, Graphic Design students at Van Lang University had the opportunity to attend the class of Mr. Joseph Pochodzaj from Royal College of Arts (RCA), London. The event featured many interesting exchange activities and discussions on aspects related to design and creative work.
With many years of experience in the field of graphic design, Mr. Joseph Pochodzaj suggested the theory of "Individual - Local - Global" in advanced design practice. At the same time, shaping and defining personal goals helps to enhance effectiveness in design and creativity. The discussion on the topics of inspiration, motivation, and goals when choosing a design field energized the class. It also created opportunities for students to share their thoughts and, in doing so, gain a better understanding of their own strengths.
In the class, students are guided to build a Portfolio when applying for a Master’s program at the Royal College of Arts (RCA) as well as jobs in the design and creative industry. Accordingly, students' Portfolios need to be presented concisely and to the point, highlighting projects in order to showcase creativity, experience and design skills.
With the dedicated guidance of Mr. Joseph Pochodzaj, students could gain useful and crucial knowledge in the design and creative process. Hopefully, with these valuable shares, Graphic Design students will be more confident and determined on their chosen path.
