Course 29 began a new journey with the Faculty of Mechanical - Electrical and Computer Engineering

On October 6, 2023, Faculty of Mechanical - Electrical and Computer Engineering freshmen had the opportunity to meet the Dean’s Board during the annual orientation day.

The orientation day is the official welcome by the Faculty and senior students for the freshmen. The event was attended by the Dean's Board and over 400 students. Dr. Le Hung Tien, the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical - Electrical and Computer Engineering, shared about the educational philosophy, mission, core values of the university, as well as the direction and expectations of the Faculty for the freshmen. He stated, "We have many reasons to choose the majors of the Faculty of Mechanical - Electrical and Computer Engineering at Van Lang University. The university believes that with the values provided to you in the next 4 years of study, this will undoubtedly be a place that makes you proud. Currently, the Faculty offers diverse fields of study in technology and engineering with modern curriculum and numerous exchanges activities with reputable partners, enabling learners to develop most comprehensively and harness the potential of computer science and technology to become the masters of the new technological era."

Furthermore, Dr. Le Hung Tien introduced Course 29 freshmen of the Data Science and Software Engineering major to the collaborative program with Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), a leading institution for science and technology education in the United States. The Dean's Board hopes that during their studies here, students will have more opportunities to access prestigious training programs from top global universities.

As part of the event, the professors introduced Course 29 to the overview of the curriculum, learning process, and future career orientation. In addition, Course 29 was inspired by scientific research, provided with information to confidently participate in research projects with professors, or join research competitions both domestically and internationally. 

At the end of the program, the freshmen had the opportunity for a direct exchange with the Dean’s Board to address any concerns about the upcoming academic journey.

The Heads/Deputy Heads of Departments introduced students to the specific training programs within each major.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thien Tong, the Head of the Aviation Engineering program, sent his greetings to the first generation of Aviation Engineering students.

With the desire to encourage and motivate individuals who have made positive contributions to the Youth Union's activities, the Faculty of Mechanical - Electrical and Computer Engineering at Van Lang University honored and awarded certificates of merit to outstanding students who achieved remarkable academic and extracurricular accomplishments in the past academic year. Through this recognition of last year's students, the Dean’s Board hopes that Course 29 will learn from their seniors and have additional motivation to strive for academic excellence and personal development in the future.
