On March 17, 2025, the Faculty of Commerce at Van Lang University hosted a workshop titled “Shooting and editing short videos: Turning moments into art.” The event aimed to equip students with professional video shooting and editing techniques to keep up with modern media trends.
The program was led by Bui Cong Anh, the Founder of Cineti, who has been behind the success of several notable film projects such as “Rom”, “Nham Mat Thay Mua He ” (Summer in Closed Eyes), and “Ong Ngoai Tuoi 30” (30-Year-Old Grandpa).
During the workshop, Commerce students explored essential aspects of video-making, including scene composition, aspect ratios, colors, contrasts, and technical settings on Blackmagic cameras like ISO, white balance, shutter speed, frame rate, and aperture to suit each context. Additionally, the participants were guided through post-production editing using DaVinci software.
Moreover, Bui Cong Anh also addressed various questions of students about lighting, camera angles, post-production techniques, color grading, and optimizing data export. Tran Thi Ngoc Anh, a marketing student from Class 29, expressed her appreciation: “The university addressed our "pain points" by organizing this workshop, as upcoming semesters will include many courses related to video production skills. The workshop is highly beneficial, as it helps me and my classmates gain confidence in video shooting, color grading, editing, and post-production techniques for short clips. This knowledge has prepared us well for the challenges of the next academic term”.
