On December 3, 2024, the Faculty of Medical Technology, Van Lang University organized a field trip to Military Hospital 175 (Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City) for more than 30 students of Class 30 majoring in Laboratory Medicine Technique to provide opportunities to access the working process in modern laboratories. Stories and advice from experts help students arouse their passion for the profession and shape their future career path.
At the meeting at the hospital, Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Ho Ngoc Diep, Specialist II - Deputy Director of the Training - Education Center, shared about the achievements, development orientation of Military Hospital 175, and the potential for cooperation with Van Lang University. The Lieutenant Colonel emphasized the important role of students in creating and promoting the development of the medical field at the hospital. At the same time, he wished to bring practical knowledge, supporting the journey to become professional medical staff of young people.
Through practical experience in modern laboratories, students have the opportunity to explore the Department of Hematology with advanced equipment such as coagulation machines, PT machines, PCK machines, and especially learn about the specialized coagulation testing process. At the Department of Biochemistry-Immunology, students can admire the modern machinery system, including immunoassay machines, biochemistry machines, centrifuges, and automatic biochemistry-immunoassay systems. In addition, they also directly monitored the testing process of important indicators such as HPMC, blood, and urine, which helped to improve their knowledge and professional practice skills.
Early access to the real working environment is a valuable opportunity for students, especially in the Faculties of Health Sciences. In addition to consolidating basic knowledge, the experience of directly observing doctors and specialists at work also helps them visualize more clearly the roles and responsibilities in the upcoming work.
The tour of Military Hospital 175 has brought many memories and lessons to students of the Medical Laboratory Technology major at Van Lang University. This activity is a testament to the Faculty's commitment to providing practical experiences, supporting students to be more prepared when entering the real working environment, and contributing to the sustainable development of the Vietnamese health system.
