Class 30 of Honors Program joins Ice Breaking 2024: Connect - Learn - Integrate

On November 17, 2024, Ice Breaking Event 2024 marked an exciting start for Class 30’s Freshmen of the Honors Program. With plenty of engaging activities, this event not only helps them quickly get acquainted but also offers an opportunity to join in a dynamic university environment.

Opening the program, Mr. Doan Duy Thai Lam, Dean of the Honors Program, asserted: “All Honorees of Class 30 will be a testament to Van Lang University’s proud 30-year milestone, willing to break their limits and integrate into the global environment. On the journey to help learners become international citizens, the Honors Program always focuses on 5 core values: Bonding - Language - Integration - Dynamic - Responsibility. The 5-pointed star you receive is not only a symbol of those values but also a desire to spread inspirational impacts with the mission “WHERE IMPACT MATTERS” of Van Lang University”.

With five core values: Bonding, Language, Integration, Dynamic, and Responsibility, the Ice Breaking Event 2024 was like a playful platform on which the Freshmen from 13 majors of the Honors Program had a chance to explore themselves and engage in teamwork activities. Through games and challenges, they were trained in communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. This event was both a first step on the university journey and an unforgettable memory, leaving a sense of pride in the Honorees as well as motivating them to further knowledge and self-development.

Truong Anh Khoa, a Class 30 student majoring in Architecture of Honors Program, shared his thoughts: “I feel very excited participating in Ice Breaking! Although at first everybody was a bit unfamiliar with each other at first, just after an activity, we got closer to each other. Besides, I had a chance to train my teamwork skills. The others demonstrated leadership skills when they proactively assigned tasks, like when we were playing the walking game or horse riding. It’s such an unforgettable experience!”

The Ice Breaking Event 2024 is an important milestone on the learning journey and a solid foundation for Class 30’s Honorees. Hopefully, Ice Breaking Event 2024 will spark positive emotions and motivate them to be more confident in the following years at Van Lang University.
