Class 27 students majoring in Korean Language defend their graduation theses

On May 12, 2025, the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture of Van Lang University (VLU) organized a graduation thesis defense session for Class 27 students majoring in Korean Language. It marked a crucial academic milestone, recording a journey full of efforts and training quality of the first class of the Korean Language major, VLU.

This year, the Thesis defense ceremony had a wide range of chosen topics, diving deep into the country, human, and culture of South Korea. Five topics were presented to the Committee, including: 2 topics on culture, 1 topic on history, 1 topic on education, and 1 topic on language.

All of them received positive comments from the Committee, demonstrating serious investment, scientific approaches, and valuable contributions from the students in researching issues related to South Korea in the current context.

  • Topic "Research on the international context of the Cold War leading to division: the case of Korea and Vietnam" - Vuong Ngoc Bao Thy.
  • Topic "Studying South Korea's University Education Policy in the face of an aging society after the COVID-19 Pandemic" - Dinh Ngoc Bao Thoa.
  • Topic "Research on the transformation of practical application of Hanbok shown in Korean movies and TV series" - Pham Vu Ngoc Han.
  • Topic "Learning about the Lotus Lantern Festival in Korea" - Tran Ngoc Yen Phuong.
  • Topic "Research on the vocabulary usage of Vietnamese dish names in Korean - Focus on dish names on the menu boards of Vietnamese restaurants in Seoul" - Nguyen Ngoc Kieu.

With the variety of fields and depth of research, this year's topics have indicated the earnest learning spirit, independent thinking ability, and acumen in approaching current issues of Korean Language students. This is an evident demonstration of the training quality of the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture, as well as an affirmation of potential further growth of the Korean Language bachelors, the young who will carry on contributing to cultural, educational, and linguistic connection and development between Vietnam and South Korea.
