On June 6, 2025, the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Van Lang University, organised the graduation project defence for Class 26 students majoring in Civil Engineering. The topics showcased a wide variety of civil construction types such as office towers, apartment buildings, shopping centres, and banks, with practical design solutions and updates aligned with current engineering trends.

According to the assessment of professional committees, this year’s projects demonstrated significant quality improvement. Students actively approached and applied new design standards, proficiently utilised industry software such as Etabs and Safe for structural calculations, and tackled technical problems such as earthquake load, flat slabs, and shear wall design. Dr. Vu Ho Nam, Chairman of Evaluation Committee 2, remarked: “The projects reflect students’ technical competence, especially in their ability to utilise specialised design tools, making the outcomes more closely aligned with real-world construction conditions.”

Among the defended projects, several stood out in terms of scale, technical execution, and strategic thinking. At Committee 1, student Ho Duc Huy received the highest score with his project titled “Design of a Pharmaceutical Trade Centre – Office of Medical Import-Export Company No.2” (8.3 points). The project focused on structural solutions for a multifunctional high-rise building, inspired by the practical infrastructure needs in the fields of healthcare and pharmaceuticals in major urban areas.

At Committee 2, student Duong Hoang Thai's project "Design of SAPA Office High-rise" achieved a total score of 8.6, the highest in the entire cohort. The project was highly praised for its comprehensive, detailed content and its ability to incorporate modern design solutions, aligning with green and smart building trends. With this result, Duong Hoang Thai became the valedictorian of the major.
Additionally, student Phan Nho Trung's project "Design of Dai Phuc Town Apartment Building in Binh Chanh" also garnered attention due to its high practicality and persuasive debating skills. His confident presentation and the integration of internship experiences into the project helped the topic receive positive evaluations from the committee.
