Beyond visiting and experiencing the resort’s facilities, the program also created opportunities for students to listen directly to insights shared by managers currently working in a high-end resort environment. Through real-life career stories, students were exposed to diverse perspectives on the industry, ranging from operations management, business, and customer service to restaurant management and event organization.

A highlight of the program was the workshop featuring experienced managers from The Empyrean Resort.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phong – Resort Manager: Opening the program, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phong provided students with an overview of the development of the tourism industry in Khanh Hoa Province, one of Vietnam’s key tourism hubs. His sharing on tourist trends, market demands, and the development potential of the destination helped students gain a broader, macro-level understanding of the Tourism industry from their very first year of study.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan – Senior Sales Manager: Continuing the program, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan introduced an overview of The Empyrean Resort as well as prominent trends in modern tourism. In particular, the practical career orientations he shared helped students better understand different professional areas within the industry, thereby identifying their own strengths, choosing suitable career paths, and preparing the necessary skills for the future.

Mr. Le Duc Anh – Restaurant Manager: For students interested in the fields of Food and Beverage and Banquet Services, Mr. Le Duc Anh’s sharing offered valuable practical knowledge about professional standards in a five-star resort environment. In addition to listening to industry experience from a professional, students also had the opportunity to observe the culinary display prepared by the resort’s F&B team, thereby gaining a clearer understanding of the professional requirements and level of professionalism in this field.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh – Assistant Resort Manager: Accompanying the program throughout, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, together with the guest speakers, joined the discussion and Q&A session with students. Questions related to income levels, promotion opportunities, working environments, career pressure, and essential skills for development in the industry were answered by the speakers in a candid and practical manner.

One of the greatest values brought by the workshop was helping students gain a clearer awareness of the nature of the Tourism – Hospitality industry. Through real stories from the business sector, students came to understand that service work is not simply about serving customers, but also the art of creating experiences, delivering positive emotions, and bringing value to others.

To achieve this, each individual needs to understand what they truly aspire to, define clear career goals, and be willing to invest time and effort in developing both professional competencies and soft skills. This was also the meaningful message that the speakers wished to convey to the new generation of students of the Faculty of Tourism at Van Lang University.

The workshop “Career Journey with The Empyrean Resort” was not only a practical learning activity for students, but also contributed to strengthening the cooperative relationship between the Faculty of Tourism, Van Lang University, and businesses in the Tourism – Hospitality industry.

Through business connection activities such as the Introductory Tour, students are able to access professional realities from their first year, laying a solid foundation for their learning journey and future career development.

The Faculty of Tourism, Van Lang University, would like to sincerely thank The Empyrean Resort for its companionship, support, and facilitation in providing students with meaningful practical experiences. This was not only a valuable learning opportunity, but also a source of inspiration that helps freshmen become more confident on their journey to conquer the Tourism – Hospitality industry in the years ahead.
