(VLU, 24/5/2023) - On May 23, 2023, the Faculty of Commerce organized a seminar on "Chon dung nghe, hoc dung dam me" (Choosing the Right Career, Following Your Passion), providing Course 27 Marketing students with valuable information about their majors, job opportunities, and career development guidance, and career development orientation.
The seminar had the participation of:
● Mr. Nguyen Van Tam, Deputy Head of the Marketing Department;
● MSc. Nguyen Thi Bich Nguyen, Deputy Head of Marketing Department;
● Mr. Nguyen Minh Tam, Digital Trends and Innovation Manager of HDBank;
● Ms. Le Thi Kim Tuyen, Managing Director of Kim Marcom Company;
● Mr. Nguyen Minh Khanh, Marketing Manager of Long Beach Group;
● Faculty of Commerce’s Lecturers, and Marketing students of Course 27.

The seminar attracted the attention of many Course 27 Marketing students.

During the seminar, each guest shared their practical experience, knowledge, and skills in the fields of Digital Marketing, Event Management, and Marketing Management to give the students more information about those fields and their development trends in the era of global digitalization.
MSc. Nguyen Van Tam, Deputy Head of the Marketing Department, Faculty of Commerce, shared: “This seminar will help a clearer understanding of different career directions and majors. Instead of learning general knowledge, identifying a specific major will help you focus your learning, avoid losing direction, and define your future job. Nevertheless, talking with experts from different majors also broadens your knowledge and familiarizes other majors.”

During the seminar, the guests share their practical experience, knowledge, and skills in the fields of Digital Marketing, Event Management, and Marketing Management.

Sharing his motivation and passion for the profession, Mr. Nguyen Minh Khanh, Marketing Manager of Long Beach Group, emphasized that the key lies in having a strong love for the chosen job. He further shared: "When working, you have to be yourself. Continuously ask yourself questions to find answers, seek new things, innovate, and approach tasks in a productive and effective manner. This not only helps you to maintain the quality of your work but also keeps your passion."
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tam, Digital Trends and Innovation Manager of HDBank affirmed that a university is a place for developing students’ mindset. Tools or technologies can change rapidly over time, and thus, it is essential for learners to update their knowledge and master the necessary tools for their future careers. Mr. Tam suggests that besides classes, students can take more short-term courses and earn certificates to benefit their personal development needs and goals without solely relying on theoretical knowledge.

Marketing has become a popular major nowadays, attracting young people due to its dynamism that aligns with market needs.

Sharing the same opinion as Mr.Tam, Ms. Le Thi Kim Tuyen, the Managing Director of Kim Marcom Company, emphasizes that students, with their youth and innovative mindset, have the chance to fully embrace new ideas, stay informed about industry trends, and constantly update themselves. Moreover, she highlights the importance of problem-solving skills for successful managerial positions. To become a good Marketing Manager, students should learn from entry-level positions, understand the working process, and establish specific strategies and goals to shape their own career path.
The seminar provided Course 27 Marketing students opportunities to acquire information and a deeper understanding of prospective career paths and job positions. Hopefully, VLU students can gain self-awareness, recognize their strengths and weaknesses, and ultimately make well-informed decisions regarding their majors.
