In building a portfolio, Architect M.Arch. Nguyen Bao Tuan—Head of the Technical Department of the Faculty of Architecture and Deputy Director of the Van Lang Autodesk Training Center (ATC)—emphasized the importance of both content and presentation in shaping and developing a compelling portfolio. Specifically, layout proportions contribute to an aesthetically pleasing presentation. According to Mr. Nguyen Bao Tuan, a portfolio is not just a collection of works but a narrative of one’s personal style, experiences, and journey.

In his lecture, Mr. Tuan highlighted four critical roles of a portfolio: demonstrating skills and competencies, reflecting personal style, serving as an application and marketing tool, acting as a tool for evaluation and growth. Achieving these objectives ensures a portfolio’s design becomes unique, creative, and distinct in a sea of applications.
