Building on the success of the "Wooden House - Essence of Japanese Architecture" workshop held in May 2023, on July 1, 2023, Aureole Construction Software Development Inc. (ACSD) collaborated with the Faculty of Architecture and Interior Design of Van Lang University to organize the award ceremony for the design competition with the theme "Wooden House - Essence of Japanese Architecture".
The ceremony was attended by: Mr. Miura Shuei, Chairman of the Board of ACSD Vietnam; Mr. Kazuno Hiroyoshi, General Director of ACSD Vietnam; Mr. Dao Nguyen Vuong, Head of the Image Solutions Department; Mrs. Pham Hong Van, Head of the Technical Department; Mrs. Nguyen Thi My Dung, Head of the Wooden House Design Department; Mr. Tang Anh Thoi, Head of the Wooden House Design Team; Assoc. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, President of Van Lang University, delivered the opening speech at the ceremony: “In recent years, Van Lang University has been strengthening its connections and collaborations with domestic and international partners across various fields. Collaborating with ACSD Vietnam to organize a design competition allows students in the fields of Architecture and Interior Design to gain valuable experience and showcase their knowledge and abilities. It is hoped that through these experiences, students can understand what knowledge and skills they need to invest in for further development.”
Mr. Miura Shuei - Chairman of the Board of ACSD Vietnam, shared: "The design competition with the theme 'Wooden House - Essence of Japanese Architecture’ is a great challenge for the students, but I believe they will learn a lot of valuable lessons by participating in this competition. I, too, was once an architecture student, and it has been a long time since I participated in such an interesting workshop and design competition for students like this. I hope this will serve as a foundation for both institutions to connect and develop many more projects in the future."
The design competition with the theme "Wooden House - Essence of Japanese Architecture" offers students the opportunity to experience creating their own ideas and designing a two-story wooden house for a young couple without children, located in the suburbs of Tokyo. Students have nearly a week to complete the project, which includes architectural drawings, exterior perspectives, and interior perspectives of the living room.
According to Japanese belief, wood is considered a natural material that brings a rustic and elegant feeling while still being warm and cozy. Japanese people embrace simplicity and prefer to live close to nature. The warm and subdued color tones of wooden houses and wooden interiors provide homeowners with a sense of harmony with nature. Japanese architecture, especially in traditional houses, exhibits distinctive features. Japanese wooden houses are known for their elegance, modernity, and high practical value, making them a subject of study in many countries around the world.
