On the evening of July 20, 2025, the signature event of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Van Lang University, returned for its 8th edition under the theme: “Flonia – Compassion is the soul’s true blossom”. With the message “Gently open the heart, let the mind bloom”, the audience immersed themselves in a peaceful atmosphere, listening to their inner selves, and letting emotions quietly blossom like flowers in the garden of the soul.

Opening the program, Dr. Nguyen Hai Long shared: “Being alongside and witnessing the growth, courage, and talent of our students is something I am extremely proud of and cherish. Through every activity, I see that this program is a wonderful opportunity for students to experience, practice, and wholeheartedly contribute to the community and society. The marks they leave are truly impressive, not only in their enthusiasm but also in their sense of responsibility and aspiration to contribute to greater causes.” He also expressed his trust that alumni will continue to inspire and guide future generations, helping to shape and foster the development of students to come.

The program treated the audience to a series of captivating performances, guiding them through authentic emotional experiences: from warm, happy days to moments of heartbreak, separation, and conflict… as well as profound lessons on letting go, compassion, and the journey of healing. Each performance represented a slice of life, expressed through diverse art forms such as theater, music, contemporary dance, etc., creating a deeply connective and emotionally rich experience.

Personal stories were creatively told through theatrical language, touching universal values such as love, family relationships, understanding, and social pain. The Chronicle Chapter VIII was not just an evening of art, but an inner journey allowing viewers to reflect on themselves, confront their shadows, and learn to move forward with compassion.

With serious preparation, student creativity, and dedicated support from faculty, the program continues to affirm the quality of one of the signature events of the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Van Lang University.
