n 2025, students and alumni of the Faculty of Arts & Design at Van Lang University took part in a series of prestigious international competitions, bringing home nearly 30 awards - showcasing the ability to blend creativity, cultural identity, professional expertise, and international standards across graphic design, fashion, digital arts, and film & media.

Also in 2025, Van Lang University was ranked by QS in the Top 51–100 globally for Performing Arts and Top 101–150 globally for Art & Design (World University Rankings by Subject 2025). This is the highest QS ranking in the Design area achieved by a Vietnamese university to date.

Ngo Hoang Dung – the valedictorian of the 27th graduating class of the Graphic Design major (Special Training Program) – was awarded the title of Promising Designer in the Communication Design category.

The team of students from the Digital Art & Design major at Van Lang University, including Huynh Thanh Phong, Duong Binh Phuong Nhi, and Pham Ngoc Tan (Class of 27), won the Bronze award in the Digital Animation category.

Tran Thi A Khin (Class of 28, Fashion Design major, Van Lang University) excellently won the first prize and also received an internship in France at the Pierre Cardin Young Designers Award 2025.

Nguyen Tran Phuc An – valedictorian of the 27th graduating class, Fashion Design major, Van Lang University – won first runner-up at the Pierre Cardin Young Designers Award 2025.

Luong Cong Bang (Class of 29, Brand Building & Fashion Management major, Van Lang University) received the Creative Designer award, recognizing his flexible approach and innovative design ideas at the Pierre Cardin Young Designers Award 2025.

Nguyen Xuan Truong (Class of 28, Brand Building & Fashion Management major, Van Lang University) received the Creative Designer Award, recognizing his innovative design thinking and forward-thinking approach at the Pierre Cardin Young Designers Award 2025.

Vo Thi Yen Nhi (Class of 27, Graphic Design major, Faculty of Fine Arts & Design) won the Special Selection Winner award.

Pham Thuy Ngoc (Class of 27, Graphic Design major, Faculty of Fine Arts & Design) won the Special Selection Winner award.

The group of students from the 27th cohort of the Digital Art Design major, including Ngo Quoc Khang, Nguyen Tran Gia Bao, and Huynh Phuong Vy, won First Prize in the AI Narration category with their work "Used to be green".

The group of students from the 27th cohort of the Digital Art Design major, including Le Ngoc Kim Ngan, Truong Tran Ha Ngan, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan, and Nguyen Thi Diem Mi, won Second Prize in the New Media Art category with their work "Heartbeat".

The group of students from the 29th cohort of the Digital Art Design major, including Tran Quynh Giang, Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Bui Viet Thanh Son, Nguyen Xuan Truc, Phan Tran Thanh Thao, Tran Anh Duc, Nguyen Xuan Thu, and Nguyen Thi Phuong Truc, received an award in the New Media Art category for their work "Memory File".

The group of students from the 28th cohort of the Graphic Design major, Faculty of Fine Arts & Design, including Lam Nhut Tien, Tran Thi Nhat Nam, Nguyen Ngo Phuong Nghi, Tran Ngoc Xuan Mai, Diep Thanh Truc, Nguyen Thi Le Giang, Nguyen Hong Phuc, Huynh Thanh Hieu, Tran Nguyen Mi Sa, Nguyen Le Uyen Nhi, and Phan Thi Khanh Nam – received an Encouragement Award in the Short Film category with their work "Life of Flow" (Hoi An).

Nguyen Thao Vy, a student from the 27th cohort of the Interior Design program, won Second Prize with her project "Artist's Garden" – a retirement home for traditional Vietnamese folk and cải lương (reformed opera) artists. The project comprises five main areas, combining open spaces, harmonious overall architecture, and incorporating traditional art elements such as paper fans, mats, and headpieces into the living spaces. "Artist's Garden" skillfully preserves traditional values while creating a bridge between generations, providing a sustainable artistic environment for the artists.

Mai Phi Hung, a student from the 26th cohort of the Interior Design program, won first prize with his project "Huong Bench". The project explores a sophisticated blend of traditional cultural values and modern design, creating a functional space while celebrating Vietnamese cultural identity.

Truong Minh Tri, a student from the 27th cohort of the Interior Design program, won Second Prize with his project "Vinh Long Ceramic Art Exhibition Center". The project draws inspiration from the traditional pottery craft of Vinh Long, utilizing local materials and a modern language of form and structure.

Nguyen Thi Huong Vy, a student from the 26th cohort of the Interior Design program, won third prize with her project "BUFFALO playground equipment". The project combines folk cultural elements with modern design, creating a creative, safe, and culturally rich play space that is both practical and aesthetically pleasing.

Pham Ngoc Lam, a student from the 26th cohort of the Interior Design program, won the Encouragement Award with her project “Hue Imperial City Discovery Toy Set”. The project explores Hue's architecture and culture, creating an educational and entertaining experience for children, and introducing heritage values to future generations.

The group of students from the 27th cohort of the Interior Design major, including Nguyen Huynh Thuy Vy and Truong Tran Truc Nam, won the Encouragement Award with their project "Boi Ca Net". The project is deeply rooted in Vietnamese tradition, showcasing a modern approach to incorporating folk culture into product design, combining aesthetics and functionality.

Huynh Minh Nhat, a student from the 28th cohort of the Interior Design program, won the Encouragement Award with his project "Van Lich Chair". The design combines traditional and modern elements, ensuring functionality while conveying cultural values and enhancing the user experience.
